The Milo Lamp is a study in rhythm and restraint—alternating bands of cherry and basswood rising from a weighty base into a slender, sculptural form. There’s something almost ceremonial about it. Nothing fussy, nothing extraneous. Just clean geometry, warm tone, and precision you can feel.

Designed and built by Aaron Getman-Pickering, a Hudson Valley-based woodworker whose practice draws on cultural artifacts and traditional techniques. His work often references kurimono (Japanese hollow forms) and boatbuilding processes like cold-molding, skills he honed while working under artist Martin Puryear.

Rooted in history but unmistakably contemporary, the Milo Lamp holds its own as both light source and object.
